Top Picks: Brown Suede Bags
In typical fashion, I have spent hours scouring the web of “cool” finds for sport (don’t look at my screen time). All this to say, Brown suede bags..
Hey guys, happy Sunday. Can you believe we are already mid way through August? Let me rephrase that, can you believe we are one day closer to fall? As I have mentioned previously, fall has been heavy on my mind. In typical fashion, I have spent hours scouring the web of “cool” finds for sport (don’t look at my screen time). All this to say, Brown suede bags. They are having a moment. In contrary, some of us would argue that brown suede has always been very timeless and relevant. And in lieu of that, I can safely say you could invest in one of these bags and feel good knowing that it’ll still be a great piece to resort for seasons and seasons to come.
Case in point - In fall of 2022 I purchased the “Manu bag” By '“By Far” in brown suede - in addition to the stunning textile of it, the thick shoulder strap and rectilinear shape made it a stunning piece. I am just as obsessed with it now as I was the day I received it. Lo and behold, here we are a few seasons later and brown suede makes a massive emergence. Girl math says it was a wise investment.
The thing about Brown suede is that it’s timeless and rich. Suede has the ability to visually give the bag a softer appeal in comparison to a polished or pebbled leather. This material can be dresses up or down (although I’d argue it leans a little more casual in most cases), and depending on the style of the bag, it can also be tran-seasonal. These are all really great points to consider when investing in a piece.
So, during my many hours scouring the web as I mentioned above, I have come across a few notable bags worth mentioning -
Lets dig in,
1 / 8 - “Brown Suede Midi Bag” By Aesther Ekme

The shape of this bag, I’m a fan. I also enjoy the juxtaposition of the larger scale of the bag while also being very sleek in depth (refer to photos on model). This is a great feature if you want to wear a larger bag, without the large bag wearing you. The way the bag was constructed with a flat trim bordering the piece is also very unique. I also always appreciate an appropriate sized strap drop allowing you to throw the bag over your shoulder with ease, especially when wearing bulkier garments such as sweaters and coats (nothing triggers me more than continuously adjusting a shoulder strap). This brand has really cool bags at the moment, check them out
2 / 8 - “Pillow Hobo Bag” By Little Liffner
Linked here
There was a time in the early 2000s when hobo bags were everywhere. Characterized by their relaxed silhouette garnering a casual feel. It may have taken years to rid myself of the PTSD from early 2000s fashion. In contrary, this is the bag that has open my mind back up to the genre of hobo silhouettes. The brown suede has a great ability to elevate the style of the bag. I also enjoy that the piece is more rectilinear than square which also makes it more chic. This bag feels unfussy, with I am a fan of.
3 / 8 - “Symmetry Suede Pochette” By Savette (My personal favorite)

This bag on the other hand is fussy.. but I don’t care and you can bet your bottom dollar that she has made her way onto The List (If you know, you know). She’s tiny but mighty. Very classy, very elegant. The shape, structure, hardware, and finish all work to make this a stunning piece. I can just see this paired with straight cut denim, heeled mules, and a crisp button down tucked in. Very Parisian.
4 / 8 - “Penne Tote” By Little Liffner
Linked here
Most notable for the single strap of hardware to flap over the bag creating a gentle closure. Great for all my work girlies with laptops, planners, their entire life in their bag type of vibe.
5 / 8 - “Small Silvana Bucket Bag” By Reformation
Linked here
It’s giving cutsey date night. The most notable feature about this bag is that it's a mini bucket bag, mini being my favorite part. The small scale of it feels very dainty and feminine to toss around in your hand and offers just enough room for the essentials, plus one.
6 / 8 - “Brown Midi Shopper Tote” By Aesther Ekme
Linked here
Another Aesther Ekme piece. The way this bag has been constructed gives it great visual interest and casual appeal.
7 / 8 - “Brown Frida Tote” By Khaite
Linked here
Again, an oversized tote with a sleek construction.
8 / 8 - “Le Cambron 35 Deep Brown Suede” By Manu Atlier
Linked here
We have been plagued with this bag on social media, but nonetheless here’s an honorable mention. It’s giving Birken without being a Birken. The style is very elevated and timeless. Great companion for bag candy if you wanted to jazz it up.
9 / 9 - Brown Shiboru Suede Bag” By Studio Nicholson
Linked here
This is the more refined sister to hobo bag mentioned previously. It has taken the same silhouette, yet given it a level of rigidity that makes it appear more refined. Bonus points for how the model has styled it as a clutch under their arm. Although styling a large scale bag as a clutch to carry doesn’t feel highly functional, it’s highly cute.
That’s all for the round up, until next time

I like the Brown Shiboru Suede Bag” By Studio Nicholson as long as the handles are long enough for me to easily put on my shoulder.
